We are excited to congratulate Visit Longmont, the City of Longmont, and its hotel partners on the successful formation of the Longmont Tourism Improvement District (LTID)!
After months of thoughtful planning, collaboration, and meaningful conversations, the LTID is set to begin collections on October 1, 2025, with a 2% assessment rate and an annual budget of $456,000. This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for Longmont’s tourism industry, one rooted in strategic investment, strong partnerships, and a united vision for the destination.
The formation process began with a feasibility study in January 2024 and has grown into a community-wide initiative with enthusiastic support from the lodging industry. Along the way, relationships were strengthened, shared goals were aligned, and a foundation was laid for long-term collaboration between Visit Longmont and community partners. By coming together to invest in tourism, Longmont is paving the way for managed growth, increased visibility, and a more resilient local economy.
“We’re proud to be part of the new Longmont Tourism Improvement District. It’s a smart investment that gives hotels and businesses the tools to reach more travelers. Visitors are discovering that Longmont offers something authentic and welcoming, and with the Longmont TID and intentional destination marketing, we can create more awareness about what Longmont has to offer.” Mark Aleman, Candlewood Suites, GM and LTID Board Director.
The LTID will enable Visit Longmont to expand its sales, marketing, and communications programs that enhance the visitor experience. The additional support will provide funding for initiatives such as:
- Dedicated marketing and sales initiatives focused on groups, meetings, and events
- Campaigns focused on off-peak seasons and year-round experiences
- Tourism infrastructure, including feasibility studies, that strengthen Longmont’s competitiveness for year-round events
- Sustainability programs that reduce tourism’s impact and preserve local resources
- Research measuring the effectiveness of marketing efforts
These initiatives are designed not only to attract visitors but also to enrich the quality of life for residents and sustain what makes Longmont a special destination for quality visitor experiences.
“The formation of the Longmont Tourism Improvement District is a win for Longmont hotels, local businesses, and the City of Longmont. With this added investment, we can thoughtfully share Longmont’s story, attract high-quality visitors who will spend their time and money, strengthening our local economy,” said Visit Longmont CEO Sarah Leonard. “Enhanced economic activity by visitors supports services, jobs, and amenities that enhance the quality of life for Longmont residents, too.”
We’re proud to have supported Visit Longmont, its leadership, Sarah Leonard, and all the stakeholders in achieving this important milestone. The LTID will serve as a powerful tool to amplify Longmont’s charm, grow its tourism impact, and build a sustainable future for years to come.
